APTA Colorado Mentorship Program

The APTA Colorado Chapter Mentorship Program is a networking and professional development service available to all Colorado Chapter members. The mentorship program is designed for clinicians with any level of experience and DPT/PTA students in their final year of school to connect with mentors who can guide them in clinical and professional topics of interest.

The Mentorship Program empowers APTA CO members to gain knowledge and expertise in a specific area of interest from other clinicians around the state. Mentees will develop a specific goal or question and then identify and contact mentors in the directory who can guide them in their professional development. The duration and frequency of meetings between mentors and mentees will vary depending on each participant's availability and the topic of interest.

After you have completed the sign-up forms at the bottom of this page, you will have access to the mentorship directory below.

  • Before contacting a mentor, please read through the Mentee Training Module to understand the expectations roles, and responsibilities of mentees.

  • Once you have a specific goal or question in mind that you would like to pursue with a mentor, you can reach out to mentors who are currently marked as "available" in the directory. Together, you will establish expectations for the relationship and develop a plan to achieve your goal.

  • APTA Colorado Mentorship Reflection Guide - Use this reflection guide to organize your thoughts regarding mentorship and what you would like to seek in your PT career. You should complete this reflection guide prior to seeking out a mentor.

Mentors

Once you have registered, mentees will be able to identify you in the directory based on common interests. Please make sure to use up to date contact information to ensure mentees can reach you successfully.

  • Once a mentee contacts you, you will work together to ensure that the mentorship topic and goal are appropriate, feasible, and can be accomplished in a realistic time frame. From there, you will create a time-based plan to achieve the mentorship goal.

  • To ensure successful relationships, please review the Mentor Training Module to understand the expectations, roles, and responsibilities of mentors.
