NCOA - CO Falls Prevention Coalition Update and Preparation for Falls Prevention Week/Month

The National Council on Aging (NCOA) is organizing a CO Falls Prevention Coalition. This coalition has the goal of reducing older adults’ falls, fall related injuries, and deaths in Colorado. Since no single Colorado organization is responsible for addressing all aspects of falls prevention, the coalition aims to bring together organizations and providers that need to collaborate to reduce falls, identify State and local community needs, recommend policy changes, and build capacity. We are excited to have two of our Colorado State Falls Prevention Coalition leads on this month’s call. Laurie Lovedale, MPH, Program Manager for Injury Prevention, Trauma Services, University of Colorado and Melanie Wuzzardo, RN BSN, Injury Prevention Coordinator, Trauma Admin, Swedish Medical Center, will be joining us to talk about their roles and coalition initiatives including preparation for this September’s, Fall Prevention Week/Month. This event is FREE and open to all.
