Description: Selective manual therapy techniques are an integral part of a physical therapist assistant’s collaborative scope of work. This course will provide a fundamental foundation on specified manual therapy in addition to the current guidelines and recommendations for the PTA. Course content will explore different passive and active osteokinematic mobilizations, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation techniques (PNF) as they relate to the lumbopelvic region and the lower quarter. This lab course will be designed to maximize hands-on practice with short lectures and group discussion. Cases will be presented to promote understanding of how and when these techniques are utilized in practice.
