"What is a State Advocate and What Do They Do in Colorado?"When: Thursday, December 15, 2022 | 6:15pm - 7:15pm MT APTA Geriatrics Colorado State Advocates Beth Castellini, PT and Jim Milani, PT, DPT, GCS, will introduce attendees to the APTA Geriatrics State Advocacy program and the happenings in Colorado. They will present their year end report submitted to the APTA Geriatrics board including their goals for 2023. We hope to increase awareness and collaboration among PT/PTAs working in a variety of clinical settings to promote best practices in physical therapy working with older adults. As APTA Geriatrics State Advocates, our mission is to “work at the local level to advocate for older adults”. Our focus is to provide two-way communication between APTA Geriatrics and the Colorado APTA Chapter; communicate with our State's PTs/PTAs as to geriatric-related issues, courses, and meetings; and support and hold events/activities to promote active aging and to increase awareness and knowledge of physical therapy for aging adults.
