Colorado PT Compact Membership Has Been Suspended
Posted: July 21, 2017
The initial meeting of the PT Compact was held on June 14th, 2017. The Colorado Chapter attended this online meeting due to a presenting concern that the inclusion of the requirement for the development of a health provider profile, as required by Colorado Statute (CRS 24-34-100 (3)(a)(XIII) – Medical Transparency Act 2010), would potentially present a material difference in the Colorado PT Compact Legislation. This inclusion, depending on the action of the newly formed PT Compact, could nullify the ability of Colorado to join the compact as a full member. Colorado actively petitioned in advance of the meeting with APTA national, and each member state of the PT Compact to seek a resolution that was forward facing, supportive to multiple state inclusion to the Pt Compact and precedent setting recognizing multiple states/jurisdictions have unique regulatory requirements which could potentially restrict participation in the PT Compact.
