Save the dates for the October 26 - 28, 2018 APTA Colorado Rocky Mountain Annual Conference & PT Expo at the Four Seasons Resort in Vail, Colorado.
The full conference provides up to 12 points in Category I education towards your PT continuing competency requirement. Saturday only provides 6 points in Category I education.
Sessions In The Spotlight: General Track
From the Computer Screen to the Clinic on Monday
This two-part course will focus on telehealth physical therapy and implementation of telehealth into your clinical practice. We will discuss current evidence, history, and resources for physical therapists to utilize telehealth in practice followed by specific telehealth physical therapy implementation example in Colorado. The audience will participate with investigating secured telehealth portal as well as non-secure real time audio and video conferencing. Overall, telehealth is a tool to advance physical therapy practice by addressing convenience of travel, cost, and quality of life impacts overall care in the digital age.
Learning Objectives:
- Define telehealth, telemedicine, and telerehabilitation.
- Identify telehealth resources in physical therapy.
- Develop telehealth implementation strategy for addressing clinical practice in your clinic.

Sessions In The Spotlight:
Introduction to the Test of Infant Motor Performance (TIMP), an Evidence-based Functional Activity Assessment for Infants
This session will provide an introduction to the TIMP, including information on test design, constructs assessed, validity, and appropriate uses.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe three purposes of assessment for which the TIMP has been validated
- Identify the age range for which the TIMP is used
- Identify the theoretical constructs informing design of the TIMP
- Identify the types of postural and movement behaviors tested with the TIMP
- After observing a videotaped assessment, list several types of movement problems that are posed by the TIMP for infants to solve
- Explain the level of assessment of the TIMP according to the ICF model and compare with other infant assessment tools
Learning the Test of Infant Motor Performance (TIMP)
Session 2 (prereq is attendance at Session 1)–Learning the Test of Infant Motor Performance (TIMP) This session will provide guidance for learning to administer the TIMP and allows the learner to develop a personal plan for establishing competence in test administration.
Learning Objectives:
- Explain the difference between observed and elicited TIMP items
- Explain the guidelines for correct administration of the TIMP
- Describe the administration procedures for the TIMP observed and elicited items
- Correctly apply TIMP scoring descriptors following observation of videos showing testing of selected items
- Identify strategies for supporting behavioral organization during assessment
- Develop a personal plan for learning the TIMP through reflection on practice opportunities and barriers to use of the TIMP in clinical practice

Join The CARe SIG Tomorrow For 'Identification/Treatment of Pusher Syndrome' Course

Description: For this event, you will leave with the knowledge of the basic neuroanatomy related to pusher syndrome, know how to complete standardized assessment tools, differential diagnosis, and current intervention strategies. Dr. Buness will also discus prognostic information and an updated research review. A case study will be reviewed to tie all the information together. Join for for a night of review of this difficult neurologic condition and be ready to implement your knowledge on your patients right away.
