Manual Therapy Practice and Review for the Cervical Spine

Join the APTA Colorado Northeast District and other local clinicians and students for an evening of manual therapy practice. There will be demonstration of graded mobilizations, muscle energy techniques, and high velocity thrust techniques followed by practice. Focus will be on the cervical spine, with the option to cover thoracic techniques per participant request. Come prepared to learn and also share your techniques in a collaborative practice session. PTs, PTAs and Students welcome! Light refreshments will be provided.

Speakers: Ben Dixon, PT, DPT, CERT.SMT received his B.S. in Health Promotion and Human Performance from Montana State University in 2003 and earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Regis University in 2006. Ben has specific experience in outpatient orthopedics, manual therapy and exercise with an emphasis on postural deficits. Additionally, Ben has further expertise with complicated shoulder impairments and progressive core strength. Ben is certified in Level 1 and Level 2 trigger point dry needling (TDN) and has taken multiple manual therapy continuing education courses and is certified in spinal manipulation.Aside from his work at Adams and Giddings, Ben enjoys outdoor activities including camping, hiking, rock climbing, biking, and snowshoeing. Ben also assists his wife who works as an Equine Veterinarian. Ben and his wife have two children.

Mike Chavez, PT, DPT, OCS Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy Education/Training:Doctor of Physical Therapy, Azusa Pacific UniversityMaster of Exercise and Sports Science, Bachelor of Psychology, University of California Santa Barbara.
