Diversity and Entrepreneurship in Physical Therapy: A Panel Discussion

The APTA Colorado Chapter Student SIG presents a panel discussion with clinicians from varying professional and personal backgrounds who will be discussing entrepreneurship in physical therapy.

When: Wednesday, June 23 | 6:00pm - 7:30pm MT

This FREE discussion is live via Zoom and open to all Students, PTs, PTAs and non-members.

About the Panelists:

  • Oluremi Onifade is a co-founder of the National Association of Black Physical Therapists and is neurological and orthopedic PT currently working at Benchmark PT in Ellenwood, Georgia, where she serves as Clinic Director. Before attending physical therapy school, she earned a master's degree in Kinesiology and helped building a bridge program with Spelman College and Auburn University to attract students pursuing careers in allied health. Participating in this program laid the foundation for future endeavors to educate and recruit people of color into the field of physical therapy.

  • Adrianna Nebedum is an orthopedic and sports clinical specialist that has practiced for 12 years in various practice areas including a traditional outpatient orthopedic clinic, professional sports and a cash based clinic. Adrianna currently works in a PT owned outpatient partnership model practice where PTs and their staff own a portion of their own practice.

  • Katherine Sylvester has owned her cash PT practice since 2011. Since then, she has developed and implemented two main programs (Rediscover Your M.U.S.I.C. and From Scars to Beauty Marks) where she works with moms to rediscover who they were before they had children and with healthcare providers to teach them how to comprehensively and intentionally treat women. The main goal of her practice is to do whatever she can to help women show up to every phase of motherhood prepared so that they can thrive throughout their lifetimes.

  • Andrew Tran is the founder of Physio Memes. When he first started Physio Memes, it was in 2016 a few months after he graduated from PT school when memes were getting popular. He searched for accounts that were consistently posting memes and couldn't find any. He decided to create his own Instagram page and share his own memes. He really wanted to promote the PT profession in not only a positive but also funny way. This is where #MakeLifeHumerus started.
