PSIG Event - Nov. 28: Ball Skills in Pediatric Physical Therapy

Description: There will be discussion related to the importance of ball play/skills in relationship to cognitive, social, and motor development.  The speaker will share strategies from her tool kit to teach children to catch, throw, and kick in order to help them be successful in collaborative and competitive games.  In addition she will share ideas on how to incorporate ball play into therapy sessions to improve posture, strength, gait, and range of motion.  Audience participation and idea-sharing will be encouraged!

Speaker: JoAnn Roberts, PT is a pediatric physical therapist with 35 years of experience.  She owns High Plains Pediatric Therapy.  She works as a contract PT with several smaller school districts in the metro and mountain areas and works for Horizons Specialized Services to provide Early Intervention services in Grand and Jackson counties.
