2020 Bob Doctor Service Award

Rebekah Griffith, PT, DPT, NCS

Service in so many ways: Colorado Chief Delegate, Delegate, CAReSIGEducation Coordinator/Secretary, CO PT PAC Chair, Academy of Neurology Local Legislative Liaison, Colorado GAC Member & Colorado Bob Doctor Tournament Co-Chair

Dr. Griffith balances career and family and teaching! She has a passion to move our profession forward. In 2020 she championed two motions to the floor of the house of delegates and passed both. One of her Emergency PT colleagues in Arizona, Carleen Jogodka, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT has this to say about Rebekah:

Rebekah has been a fantastic colleague to work with in advancing the emergency physical therapist practice. She has been a leader from the start when it has come to recognizing the needs of the practice, and seeing what the practice does for our patients and profession as a whole. From championing two 2020 HoD motions (which passed unanimously) to engagement within her health organization leading her EPT practice, she has moved the profession forward.

Speaking from experience, this tremendous ongoing work is well outside of patient care; it involves building teams, educating not only patients but non-PT clinicians, and even reluctant administrators, on the benefits and importance of the specialty practice. Her work is apparent even from afar by looking at how Colorado has expanded and embraced the EPT practice, she has been an active voice on behalf of many PTs across the State. With no hesitation she has earned great commendation!
