CMS Proposed 2021 Physician Fee Schedule and Quality Payment Program Rule

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services seeks comments on its proposed rule, which includes an estimated 9% reduction to payment for PT, OT, and SLP providers in 2021. CMS proposes to permanently allow PTs to bill e-visits, virtual check-ins, and remote assessment of recorded video and/or images submitted by an established patient. In addition, the agency proposes to allow a PTA to perform maintenance therapy services in Part B settings. The agency also provides clarification regarding therapy documentation. Taking action against the proposed pay cuts is vital to our profession and patients, and APTA will provide comments. Clinicians and patients may submit comments independently using APTA's unique template letters. Review Proposed Rule | Review Fee Schedule Fact Sheet | Review QPP Fact Sheet
