Legislative Success – Awaiting the Governor’s Action

Posted: June 12, 2020

Today the Colorado House passed HB 12-212 which provides for parity in insurance coverage for the use of Telehealth services to provide physical therapist care. This new legislation, which we expect to be signed into law shortly, will make permanent the ability for Physical Therapist’s to provide care via Telehealth. This legislation covers commercial and government insurance (Medicaid in Colorado), though the current authorization for the use of Telehealth under Medicare will expire at the end of the national declaration of emergency. APTA National is working with House and Senate sponsors in Washington DC to enact Telehealth permanence for PT’s at this time.
